Oatmeal Molasses Brown Bread

A staple in many Nova Scotia homes, This sturdy bread slices well and is excellent for sandwiches. Molasses gives it a touch of sweetness that pairs well with deli meat, especially smoked or spicy meats. A slice of this in the morning, toasted and spread with a generous slather of old-fashioned peanut butter will fill you up if you’re in a hurry but don’t want to skip breakfast!

Acadian-style white bread

The classic white sandwich loaf with the texture and flavor of French bread! With larger holes than the other bread, this is ideal for toasted open-faced sandwiches piled high with fillings, toasted and slathered with butter or cream cheese in the morning, or for mopping up the gravy on your plate at supper. This bread also makes excellent croutons and stuffing, too!

Rustic Baguettes

Just the right amount of crunchy exterior and a soft interior with just the right amount of holes to hold tasty melted butter or preserves. Perfect for sandwiches or served up alongside soup or stew. Save the ends to make delicious croutons.

Old-fashioned tea Biscuits

Fresh butter and cream come together to produce a tender and flaky biscuit that you will love sinking your teeth into! The layers make for easy splitting and hold lots of butter or jam. Serve alongside soups and stews but especially chowdah!! These biscuits also make a great dessert base, split and served with fresh berries and custard. You know you want my biscuits in your mouth!!

Nova Scotia Oat Cakes

Oat cakes are ubiquitous in bakeries and kitchens up home, and everyone has their secret family recipe. Thick, with a crispy bite yielding to soft buttery sweetness, this recipe has been a maritime teatime staple for centuries!
